I enjoyed Educating Esme because it is an easier read than I expected. One of the main reasons I enjoy the book is because Esme is a witty and sassy character which adds entertainment to the story. I do not understand why Esme's mentor did something that could risk getting herself fired in order to get a kid to stop saying "suck my dick". However, it was one of my favorite parts of the reading because it was comical and got the child to stop saying it for the rest of the school year. One of the things I enjoyed most is how Esme runs her classroom: fun activities, problem box, conflict solving, and books of her own for the children to read. Esme makes you wish that you could go back to fifth grade and have her as a teacher because it seems likes an enjoyable learning environment. I could tell that she has a real passion for teaching and takes that teaching further than average. She does not only care about teaching children academics but teaching them morals as well. Whatever she does in her classroom is for the benefits of her students and the benefits of her students only. I don't like Mr. Turner because he does not appreciate how hard she works and all she does for the students. If she was employed by me, I would think that she was an excellent worker.
